Agility Sport Foundations

This program offers 8 weeks of foundation skills geared toward those interested in the sport of dog agility. In this program, dogs will be introduced to jumps and tunnels, handling maneuvers (on the flat), and will learn key skills for a future of success in the sport: body awareness, jump grids, ring entrance/exit skills, start-line skills, impulse control, and engagement and motivation games tailored to each individual team.  

Dogs must be comfortable working around other dogs, in an outdoor and indoor group environment, and in close proximity to other dogs and people.  

Class size is limited.

Beginner Agility

In this 8-week course, you will start to run small setups designed to test and proof your handling skills, advanced line connection, build obstacle independence and commitment, bypassing drills, rear crosses, threadles and beginning the foundation work for stopped and running contacts (a-frame, dog walk, and teeter)! 

Prerequisite: Completion of Agility Sport Foundations

Advanced Agility

This 8-week course will feature: progressing stopped/running contact work, learning all about Backsides and Threadles, jump grids for collection/extension/turning, larger sequences to build your handling skills & line connection, and of course, continuing to build obstacle commitment, independence, and value.

Prerequisite: Completion of Beginner Agility

Weaves & Contacts

This 8-week program will be all about Weave Foundations & Contact Bootcamp!

Prerequisite: Completion of Advanced Agility.

Competition Prep

This 8 week course will be your last stop on your way to competing in Agility. This program will feature course analysis skills for handlers and building skills to help you read a course map and make decisions that best suit your team. Each week we will learn all about the various games and competitions that you will encounter in local UKI and AAC agility trials (jumping, jumping with weaves, standard agility, gambler, snooker, steeplechase, speedstakes). Each week we will run a full agility course featuring that class’s theme.

Prerequisite: Completion of Weaves & Contacts; dog trained on all contact obstacles and weaves
